ABOUT BAND
SALAMANDRA was founded by Pavel Slíva, who had played in speed metal and melodic metal bands in
Prague and Plzeň. The CD debut “Twilight of Legends” was recorded in 1998 in the Citron studio. This, basically conceptual, album is
a mix of melodic metal with gothic signs, the heavy tirades are alternating with decent slow-downs. The positive reaction of the media
(such as the review and interview in the SPARK magazine, interview on the HELLAX radio, inclusion in the compilation CD of the
WHIPLASH magazine) is supported by an extraordinary popularity with the audience (besides regular performances in clubs, forerunner
for STRATOVARIUS, GAMMA RAY, CHROMING ROSE, RADEGAST ROCK festival in Hlučín, shows in Slovakia and planned concerts in Germany).
It is also worth mentioning that the band was asked by the HELLOWEEN fanclub to contribute to the tribute album dedicated to
these legends with one of the band’s songs … and it is an undisputable fact that the “Judas” song performed by them is worth
a big attention.
The current concert material SALAMANDRA attacks the Czech and Slovak clubs with contains
the songs from all four albums. The musicians stand fast on their melodious metal standard outlined in their “first fruit”
Twilight of Legends, second album Skarremar, the third one Great Moravian Elegies, and then the latest one – FACES OF CHIMERA,
which the band recorded in the ARTVOX studio, Šenov, and had it mastered in FINNVOX, Helsinki. The vocal madness was in no way
throttled by the new singer – Ivan Borovský, for whom the Faces of Chimera album is the first one with Salamandra, and who will
be supported in the next melodic plan by his fellow fighters for return of the metal music to the peak of the audience’s interest.
